Shane was a follower of Mahatma Gandhi. Ahimsa (Do no harm, non violence.) Watch the movie “Gandhi”, basically how one person can change the conflict between nations without one bullet being fired. Of course, one bullet eventually was fired and made Gandhi a martyr.

While studying at Cerro Coso College, he took a trip to a rural village in Mexico with Professor Janet Westbrook to deliver food and supplies. Whil on the trip, he had an “awakening”. When he returned home, he told his mother, … “I had a revelation. We are all one. We all come from the same God Source”. He never forgot that experience.

As I sit in Heaven

and watch you everyday,

I try to let you know with signs

I never went away.

I hear when you're laughing,

and watch you as you sleep,

I even place my arms around you,

to calm you as you weep.

I see you wish the days away,

begging to have me home.

So I try to send you signs,

so you know you're not alone.

Don't feel guilty that you have

life that was denied to me.

Heaven is truly beautiful,

just you wait and see.

So live your life, laugh again,

enjoy yourself, be free.

“Shane is missing in me.” We usually say in English, “I miss you”. But, courtesy of Alan Wolfelt, well-known grief counselor, the French say, “You are missing in me.” There is such a hole to fill which you can't fill with things...... only through loving memories and sharing them.

Thank you Shane, for leaving us with so many wonderful memories so we can continuously fill our emptiness with LOVE.
